Dehradun and mussoorie  Rajaji National Park is distinct for its pristine scenic beauty and rich bio-diversity. Spread over an area of 820.42 sq km, Rajaji is a magnificient ecosystem nestled in the Shivalik ranges and the beginning of the vast Indo–Gangetic plains, thus representing vegetation of several distinct zones and forest types like sal forests, reverine forests, board–leaved mixed forests, scrubland and grassy. It posseses as many as 23 species of mammals and 315 bird species.The abundance of nature’s bounties heaped in and around this park, are bound to attract a large number of wildlife conservationalists, nature lovers and eco-friends to visit this most breathtaking wilderness area.

Tapkeshwar Temple,

Located at a distance of 6.5 kilometres from the city centre of Dehradun, the Tapkeshwar Temple is a humble cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Simple and charming in its appearance, this revered temple is situated along the banks of a river which imparts it a unique sanctity.  A Shiva Linga is enshrined in the main complex which is believed to grant the wishes of all those who seek the Lord’s blessings. Water trickles from the ceiling continuously on the Shivalinga, making it an interesting spectacle to watch. Gun Hill, Mussoorie

tourist place in mussoorie Said to be an extinct volcano, Gun Hill is the second highest point in the entire area of Mussoorie standing tall at an altitude of 2024 meters! The scene from the top of this hill is a panoramic view of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges right beside the widespread Doon Valley and a full view of the hill station of Mussoorie. The meadow of the valley is eden-green with thigh-high grass and erect tree trunks. The mountains in the distance coronating the valley as the coloured flowers act like its garland. The sky above this looks like a roof of bright blue, with fluffy patches of cotton casting shadows on the valley. Fog tinted trees catching a glimpse of the shining sun as the white caps of the Himalayas glisten in the light.

The name of Kempty Falls is taken from the terms “camp and tea” implying the elaborate tea parties that were once organized here in evenings eventually leading to a localized name Kempty. Offering a stunning view of water stream cascading down from a great height, it divides into five channels. The pond formed at the bottom of the falls make an excellent spot for swimming and bathing. A flight of stairs leads to the pond where one can soak in the fun with friends and family. Quite famous among the tourists as a picnic spot, this perennial waterfall is crowded almost throughout the year.
