Day 1 – Jaipur – Jodhpur (337 km / 6 hrs)
On arrival in Jaipur, you will be picked up from the airport and driven to Jodhpur. Enjoy a wonderful city tour of Jodhpur covering the Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada (if time permits) and bazaars of Jodhpur. Witness the grand architecture of Mehrangarh Fort – one of India’s largest forts, situated at an altitude of 410 feet on a cliff. Built of red sandstone, the fort offers splendid views of the surroundings. You can visit Jaswant Thada (if time permits), a cenotaph built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in his father’s remembrance – Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Also visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace (one of the largest private residences in the world) in the evening and have a pleasant stay in Jodhpur.
Day 2 – Jodhpur – Jaisalmer Sam Sand Dunes (285 km / 5 hrs)
Travel to Jaisalmer on this day and en-route, make a visit to Manvar Oasis. It is an oasis on the Thar Desert that offers utmost serenity and scenic green views amid a rural setting. Proceed further from Jaisalmer (for abou5t 45 km) to reach the great Sam Sand Dunes by 4.30 pm. It is a popular attraction that tells tales of desert life and offers an enthralling camel ride, while the sun sets over the horizon. Enjoy a campfire in the evening accompanied by Rajasthani folk music and dance. Then stay overnight at a camp in the Sand Dunes and have a complete desert experience.
Day 3 – Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (280 km / 5 hrs)
After a good breakfast, go on to visit the famous Jaisalmer Fort. It is built with the unique golden limestone, which is why it is also known as Golden Fort or Sonar Quila and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then head to Patwon-ki-haveli, Nathmal-ki-haveli and Salim Singh-ki-haveli (depending on the timings). These havelis (or palaces) are famed for their distinctive and marvellous architectural styles. People still live in these ancient buildings dating back to the 12th and 15th century. Then travel to Jodhpur, check in at the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 4 – Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur (260 km / 4 hrs)
Have a refreshing breakfast and take transfer to Udaipur on this day. En-route, make a visit to Chaumukha Temple in Ranakpur (if you wish to). Built in 1439, this marble temple is dedicated to Lord Adinath and comprises 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars. On arrival in Udaipur, check in at the hotel and in the evening, take a boat tour over the picturesque Lake Pichola (at your own cost). Admire the royal buildings around the lake including the grand city Palace and enjoy a scenic sunset. Then rest the night away in Udaipur.
Day 5 – Udaipur Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, embark upon a wonderful city tour of Udaipur. Visit Fateh Sagar Lake, a beautiful artificial lake that got its name from King Maharana that offers scenic views. Furthermore, visit Maharana Pratap Memorial (dedicated to the brave warrior Maharana Pratap), take a photo stop at Nehru Garden (a unique picturesque garden), Sahelion Ki Bari (Garden of the Maids), Sukhadia Circle (drive past) and Bhartiya Lok kala Mandal – a museum of folk and art, displaying rich collection of folk dresses, ornaments, puppets masks and dolls. Then visit the famous City Palace, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan that exhibits the splendour of Mewar rulers. Finally, you will return to your hotel for the night.
