It’s time to begin your luxurious vacation with the Deccan Odyssey. Guests are supposed to reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus around 3:30 PM, as they have to complete some formalities regarding check-in and reservation.
Guests are treated like royals, as they are served a delectable welcome drink and are then escorted to their rooms. The journey from here onwards is going to be beautiful as the train departs for its first tourism destination, Bijapur.

With this day, your journey actually begins as the train makes its way to Bijapur, a historically blessed city in Karnataka. Breakfast is served for the guests so that they gear themselves up for the day. The first attraction of the day is the mausoleum of Adil Shah and the second largest tomb in the world, Gol Gumbaz. Adil Shah was the Sultan of Bijapur. The tomb represents Deccan architecture which is a mix of Dravidian and indo-islamic architecture. Next tourist spot to be covered is Jumma MAsjid, which is one of the first mosques carved in India, followed by Mehtar Mahal, Malik-e-Maidan and Ibrahim Rauza.
Guests move back to the train for enjoying the scrummy lunch and a mesmerising background.
Deccan Odyssey moves to its next destination which are Pattadakal and Aihole.
Dinner is served to guests and cabins are made just perfect for a comfortable night stay.
Day 3 brings with it a power packed historical and spiritually enchanted tourist places. After having a nutritious breakfast, guest move out to witness the sight of Pattadakal, where the North Indian and South Indian architectural styles are intermingled in a terrific way. There are temples built by the Chalukya Kings that travellers would be getting a glimpse of in Pattadakal.
Post the tour, travellers head back to the train and satiate their stomach with great lunch. Later in the afternoon, guests can choose to go out and sightsee Guledgudda, a weaving village around the corner which is known for Ilkal and Khan. Travellers also have a choice of visiting Badami, a place famous for its fine temples and rock-cut caves.

Pouring in more and more spiritual essence everyday, the Deccan Odyssey next takes its guest to Hospet. Travellers will get to witness Hampi which is a UNESCO World Heritage Sites which nurtures ruins of the yesteryears like gems. Travellers can bow down heads at the Sasivekalu Ganesha temple, which houses the statue of Lord Ganesha made up of one rock and get awed by the Lakshmi Narasimha statue, a monolith sculpture.
As Hampi finds its place on the banks of Tungabhadra River, travellers can fill their soul with peace by just strolling around. Virupaksha Temple and Vittala Temple are also famous tourist attractions lined up next in the tour.
To have lunch, guests are escorted back to the train. Spending some leisure time, travellers can again pick up their bag and visit the Royal Center at Hampi. This is followed by a short tour to Queen’s Bath which is an age-old royal stepped tank and more attractions.

Guests see the sunrise in Hyderabad, as the train chugs its way to this tourist destination on day 5. In the yesteryears, Hyderabad was known as the royal city of Nizams. Over the period of time, the name of the city was changed from Bhagmati to Hyder Mahal to the present one. As soon as guests finish their breakfast, they make their way to the first stop which is Golconda, known for the grandness, culture and traditions by the Nizams. It is a fort which has served as the capital of the medieval sultanate of the Qutb Shahi dynasty.
Post the sightseeing tour, guests can make their way back to the hotel and relish the afternoon meal at the Deccan Odyssey.
Later in the evening, guests can visit the vibrant markets of Hyderabad which are popular for the lip-smacking Biryani. Travel souvenirs like lace bangles, ittars, pearls can also be bought from the market. After the shopping tour, guests can head to Falaknuma , a royal palace in the city that belonged to the Paigah family, and was a possession of the Nizam of Hyderabad.
Aurangabad is the next tourist destination that Deccan Odyssey covers on your luxury vacation. Owning its name from the Great Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb, the city is home to the popular Ellora Caves. The city is also known for the Mughal essence it embodies till date.
Once the guests are done with their delectable breakfast, they pick their bags and cameras for a tour to the ancient site of Ellora Caves. It is one of the must visit places in Aurangabad as the site houses a number of rock-caves that belong to Buddhists, Hindus and Jains. The top attraction of Ellora Caves is a temple moulded same as Lord Shiva’s resting place on Mt.Kailash.
As soon as the guest reach back to the train, they have rest of the day at their end.

A journey with Deccan Odyssey can never be complete without a trip to Ajanta Caves. After exploring every nook of Hyderabad, the luxury train rolls the way to Jalgaon station.
Guests are served a yummy breakfast post which they go on a sightseeing tour to the Ajanta Caves. Possessing 30 rock-cut Buddhist caves, the Ajanta Caves was honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The caves are finely crafted in such a way that there are paintings and sculptures of Buddhist religious art carved on them.
Travellers are escorted to the train at lunch time.
Next stop for the day is Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, a museum and research institute on Mahatma Gandhi. The famous quotes by the Indian activist and his journey is well portrayed in the museum.
Bidding the sum goodbye, the guests head back to the train. Dinner and overnight stay are organised for the guests.
